CapAsia focuses on private equity investing in the infrastructure sectors in Southeast Asia and Central Asia. Founded in 2006, CapAsia focused on private equity investing in infrastructure sector in Southeast Asia and Central Asia . The firm currently manages approximately $300 million in assets across two funds.
CapAsia’s management and investment teams are experienced in both the international private equity and principal investing disciplines. CapAsia’s founders believe that successful investment outcomes require local sources of insight and information, which is provided by local market offices. The firm management maintains a commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
CapAsia’s first fund, The South East Asian Strategic Assets Fund, was launched in 2006. In 2009, the Firm launched the Islamic Infrastructure Fund, and the third fund, The CapAsia Asean Infrastructure Fund III, was launched in 2012.*
CapAsia is majority owned by The Rohatyn Group (TRG), a private investment firm focused on investing in emerging markets. The CIMB Group is a significant minority shareholder.
